Photography has been a passion of mine since my sophomore year of high school. With every new technique I learned, I fell in love with photography even more. Digital photography has changed my view on this art. With faster turnaround times to see my results, I have more time to reflect and accomplish more artistic work. I’m immersing myself into learning as much as I can of this evolving photographic medium. I view the world from an artist’s eye, and I try to bring that view into all my images.

Harry Callahan, an American 20th Century photographer, loved to photograph his wife and child, his hometown and everyday surrondings. He did not leave a lot of written records behind, but this quote is one of the few documented:

“I wish more people felt that photography was an adventure the same as life itself and felt that their individual feelings were worth expressing. To me, that makes photography more exciting.”

Harry Callahan

I feel this quote reflects my style and outlook on photography so well! I love what I do, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to document the lives of all the amazing people and families I get to meet. I view photography as an adventure in capturing life and the everyday expression of happiness!

I must say that my friends are the ones responsible for sparking my interest in portraiture. Without them modeling for my projects and supporting my crazy ideas, I don’t think I would have gained the courage to meet new people. I certainly would not have had the opportunity to experience the joy of photographing their lives and their love!
